Priorities

Leadership – to develop a consistently high-quality staff workforce.

Develop a strategic plan to ensure that our MAT has capacity to effectively grow and support new schools.
Work with other MATs to explore effective growth strategies and lessons learned.
Further develop staff wellbeing by understanding what will make the difference – bi annual questionnaires. Staff 1:1s. Wellbeing training for all staff.
ECT training programme to offer significantly more training on SEND, pedagogy and subject specific learning.
Develop a range of Specialists Leaders working across the schools to create an outstanding education for our pupils. Great teachers from across the MAT to be selected for the NPQ funded courses. These specialist teachers will then run network meetings and training across the Trust forming part of our quality assurance team.
Develop subject specific network meetings for foundation subjects across the curriculum. Leaders to run these programmes will be recruited from across the MAT and initially supported by our Deputy Headteachers.
Instructional Coaching to be used as a tool to improve and develop staff pedagogy. Six staff from each school will initially receive the training and then roll this out across their school.

Quality of Education – to use research, best practice and expert teaching to improve outcomes for all our pupils by removing barriers and having the highest of aspirations.

Improve performance and standards in all schools to an aspiration target of National.
Work with staff to help them understand how to support children to overcome the barriers they face.
Inject more rigor to pupil data assessment, target setting and analysis to increase the % of pupils who achieve ARE and GD.
Provide tuition groups/booster sessions for pupils who could achieve greater depth.
Through the work of the Subject Networks develop an effective system for assessments of learning and endpoints across the Trust.
The work of the Specialist Teachers ensures all staff are effectively using strategies to make assessments in lessons.
The English and Maths leads from each school to work with Jean Watt to devise a Trust approach to assessment in reading, writing and Maths through the use of standardised assessments. This information will feed into Trust tracking system and be used to demonstrate progress to the Trust Board.

Continue to develop oracy to ensure it is incorporated in all areas of school life. Ensure children are given opportunities to demonstrate their oracy skills in a formal setting.
Ensure staff are experts at using the Trust system to assess pupils oracy.

Opportunities for leaders to go and see outstanding practice in other schools and in the Trust.

Headteachers and Deputy Headteachers to undertake enquiry reviews with our School Improvement Lead.

Wider Curriculum

Increase opportunities for cross MAT events for pupils.
o Autumn Term – a music event
o Spring Term – a debating opportunity
o Summer Term – a variety of Sporting events
Mapping of the wider experiences across the Trust which provide our pupils with cultural capital.

Cascade Award Ceremony in the Summer Term – nominations from each school e.g. attendance, art, sport, music, presentation skills, sport, science, creative writing, a great friend, perseverance award.

Children and parents invited to award ceremony for a celebrity presentation.

SEND

The Trust aims to provide a high-quality inclusive education.
Further development in training to ensure all staff know how to provide expert quality first teaching and adaptations to the curriculum for all pupils. Training enables staff to explore how the curriculum can provide appropriate challenge for pupils
Training to focus on the Cascade expectations relating to quality first teaching and strategies to be used to support pupils with SEND.
The whole Trust January training day will focus on SEND and inclusive provision. Staff will have the opportunity to deepen their understanding of the experiences of SEND pupils and learn new ways they can develop their teaching to help pupils achieve their full potential.
Further develop the IR and Hubs to effectively meet the complex needs of the pupils. IRs and Hubs to work closely together with specialists to develop staff expertise and curriculum planning.

Behaviour, Attitudes and Personal Development

Improve attendance to above National and significantly reduce the number of PAs. Apply the Trust attendance strategy effectively across the MAT.

Ensure rigor and challenge around attendance, lateness and persistent absenteeism. Ensure the Trust attendance tracking system is being used to identify vulnerable groups and pupils at risk of becoming PA.

Effectively communication the new National attendance penalties with all parents and support them to ensure their child has good school attendance.

Develop trauma informed network meetings, reflective practice and create opportunities for Pastoral colleagues to share best practice and effective strategies.
